Frequently asked questions
Find clear answers about this product, from choosing it to putting it to use.
Is the filter included with the 1-liter bottle?
Yes. The system includes the collapsible bottle, membrane microfilter, cap and tether, backwash accessory and user manual.
Can I drink from it and fill another container?
Yes. Sip through the mouthpiece, or squeeze the bottle to dispense filtered water into another container.
Can the membrane be replaced?
Yes. This bottle uses the Peak Series replacement membrane microfilter. LifeStraw rates it for up to 2,000 liters; actual life depends on water quality and care.
How do I clean it between uses?
Backwash with the supplied accessory and drinking water, then rinse the mouthpiece, cap and bottle. Follow the manufacturer’s extended-storage instructions when putting a used filter away for more than one month.
Will it remove viruses or salt?
No. It is a membrane microfilter, not a virus purifier or desalination system. Do not use it for seawater or chemically contaminated water.

The tethered cap is a small detail I really appreciate.
It rolls down nicely after emptying.
The cap tether saves me setting it down somewhere. I also like the bottle shrinking as I drink.
Handy bottle, but cleaning the filter needs a little extra attention.
The cap stays attached, which is useful. I prefer a firmer bottle grip.
Nice product.
So glad I picked this.
Squeezing water into another container feels straightforward.
